Mont Sinai Ministries of Bayonnais in Haiti

Welcome to my blog which will now be the new home for the Mont Sinai Ministries of Bayonnais in Haiti (MSMBH). Due to the changes Blogger made on their website, I am no longer able to post or edit on my old Blog. However, it is still available for viewing. You can click on the link that is posted on the right side of the page to view the 80 stories and many pictures that have been posted. It is my hope to keep this new blog going on a regular basis with more pictures and updates on progress. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support! May God Bless You All!

Children of Haiti Orphanage - MSMBH

Hello dear Family and Friends,
Was finally able to collect a few pictures to post of the current orphans. Have spent a few weeks trying to get them uploaded on the blog but they don't seem to want to stay where I want to place them. It is obvious that Blogger has changed the way pictures are downloaded and added to the blog. It has been a real struggle so I am starting all over. Don't have all the photos or the info on the newer and/or latest additions, but will post what I can for today (in random order).  Pastor St. Victor is working on getting the right info on their ages and birthdates. In Haiti, it is difficult to know for sure. Many are not documented and after the hurricanes, floods, and earthquake, it only made it that much harder. For those of you who used to follow my original blog, you may recognize some of the kids from the time that I lived there. (See link on right side of page). Am missing pictures of the twins, Cardina and Cadjina, as well as Smith. I am still waiting on the pictures of twelve more children. Please keep in mind that they need your love and strong prayers as much as they need your financial support. Thank you for caring and for sharing. She is so beautiful! <3

More Help for Haiti MSMBH Orphanage

Lyle Fried is the Director of the Lamb of God Outreach program in Florida and has been working with Pastor Saint-Victor with the MSMBH ministries in Haiti. He posted this on FB yesterday:

Hurricane Irene destroyed the tent (see photo above) being used as a school for the MSMBH Orphanage in Bayonnais. We are about $14,000 from having enough to complete the new school we're building there. Anything you can do will help. Our Rotary Club and Rotary grants are providing the remaining $41,000. Please consider helping us provide a safe solid building (with clean sanitation/bathrooms) for these children to learn in.
  • There is still a critical need to get good medical care for the children. Several have recently become ill with fever and internal infections and need to be treated.
  • Food, supplies, clothes, shoes and beds are an ongoing need and funds are needed to maintain a steady supply.
Donations can be made by and clicking on the ‘Donate’ button on this page and this will take you to a PayPal site for MSMBH. For every $20.00 you donate on PayPal, you are entitled to receive a Samaritan Saver Card for discounts on your online shopping needs. Up to 50% savings on groceries, clothing, dining, automotive, household items and much more.

Donations can also be made for the building of the new school by sending a tax-deductable check made payable to Lamb of God Outreach (put ‘Haiti School’ in memo space) and mail to:

It is an ongoing long-term mission so funds are always needed. Thank you, in advance, for your help and your generosity.
God Bless You!

New Pictures from Haiti

Hello Dear Readers,

I received an email from Pastor Saint-Victor and he informed me that the orphanage now has a total of thirty-six children living in the house. They added two more girls last week. I spent the last couple of days downloading all of the pictures I have collected since the time of my return back in 2007. Most of the pictures were taken in 2009-2010 and only a few for this year. I do not have all the pictures yet of the new children but will post what has been sent to me. There is even a greater need now to send donations if you can find it in your heart to do so. Your gifts will be very appreciated.

I hope you enjoyed all the photos. Still have more to post but it will take time. Hope to have more individual pictures of each child as well as some information about them. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for taking the time to view this blog. Love to all and may God Bless you today!

Getting Reconnected

Hello dear family and friends!

It has been over four years since I first went to Haiti. It has been over a year since my last posting on my former blog. Although I have kept in touch with Pastor Saint-Victor Sejour, so much has happened that it will take some time to catch up. For those of you who used to follow my previous blog, I'm sure you noticed in the picture at the top that the group of orphans has grown from twelve children to twenty-five. Of the original twelve, (which includes Mamode from the village), only ten remain. Aquel is a man now and living somewhere in Gonaives. Ismalene moved in with a distant relative but still attends the school. The remaining nine are still living in the house. After the last hurricane (Ike) and then the earthquake, fourteen more children and a couple of widows also moved in. Saint-Victor did his best to accommodate them all. A temporary outdoor kitchen was built behind the existing kitchen to make a room for the additional boys. The living room area is now the dining room. There are more boys than girls. The school and church are still going strong but the funds to pay the teachers and the staff are non-existent. However, both teachers and staff continue to do their jobs even without pay. They are dedicated to keeping the ministry going. Food and supplies are low and the children are in need of healthcare. Although it is now summer, it is also hurricane season once again and the orphanage needs to be prepared with food and supplies, just as we would do here if one were headed our way. In Haiti, it is harder to get supplies on a normal day but in the midst of disaster, it is nearly impossible. The other big need they have is to build another building to separate the boys from the girls. It is extremely crowded in the house and some are sharing twin beds. They also need more beds. There is a long list of orphans waiting to get in but there is just no more room for now. Then there is the need for school uniforms and supplies. Around mid-July to the 1st of August, MSMBH has to get the children measured and order the materials for the new uniforms to be made. They also have to put in their order for school books and supplies. The funds need to be available for them to take care of each child. Also, during the school year,  MSMBH provides a lunch for every student and the school now has close to 500 students with eight teachers on staff.
As for the great blessings, last year they were helped by a couple of ministries. One organization donated bags of rice. Not only were the orphans fed but many people from the mountains of Bayonnais came with whatever they could fill and carry back home. Another ministry brought shoes for all of the orphans. They were so happy! It was great to see their smiling faces!
Please enjoy the photos below and I will spend the coming weeks working on this blog and posting all the pictures that have been sent so far. If you would like to get more involved please click on the link for my email address and send me an email with your information. If you would like to make a donation, please click on the (Donate) button and it will take you to a PayPal website. You do not need an account to make a donation. We are asking for a minimum of $20.00, but if you wish to donate more, it will be greatly appreciated and huge blessing for everyone. Thank you for caring. Love to all!
